Loving Paws Adoption Center (LPAC) is a physical shelter sponsored by the Pulaski County Humane Society (PCHS). LPAC and PCHS are a private 501c3 charitable animal rescue organization. We do not receive any public or government funding, we rely solely on donations from private individuals and area fundraisers. Please note: We do NOT accept owner surrender pets.

Kitten Division is a private adoption center and cat rescue organization. Open every day from 2-6 pm. Kitten Division does not receive any public or government funding, they rely solely on donations from private individuals and area fundraisers.

 

Municipal Pounds / Shelters

Waynesville Animal Shelter, 1502 Ousley Road, Waynesville, MO 65583, Phone 573-774-6509
Waynesville Animal Shelter is the physical shelter for dogs within the city limits of Waynesville and is a city run facility. They house only dogs at this time and do accept owner surrenders for a fee and if space is available. Waynesville Animal Shelter is making great strides in becoming a no-kill animal shelter.

St. Robert Pound is a physical shelter for dogs within the city limits of St. Robert and is a city run facility. St. Robert Pound houses stray dogs found within the city and is working towards becoming a no-kill facility. Their pound is open by appointment only and does NOT accept owner surrender pets.

Fort Leonard Wood Stray Facility is the main shelter for dogs and cats within the military base.

Dixon Dog Pound, contact  573-759-6413 (shared number for the pound) or City Hall at 573-759-6115
Dixon Pound is a physical shelter for dogs within the city limits of Dixon and is a city run facility. Dixon Pound houses stray dogs found within the city. Dixon is working towards becoming a no-kill facility and their pound is open by appointment only.

Crocker Animal Control, contact City Hall at 573-736-5327
Crocker Animal Control has no physical shelter at this time. Stray dogs found within the city limits of Crocker are taken to either Loving Paws Adoption Center or Dixon Pound as space allows. They do NOT accept owner surrender pets.

Richland Pound, contact City Hall at 573-765-4421
Richland Pound has a physical shelter for dogs found within the city limits of Richland and is a city run facility. Richland Pound houses stray dogs found within the city. At this time Richland Pound is a kill-facility and does NOT accept owner surrender pets.

Pulaski County, Missouri – Outside of any City Limit Noted Above
Unfortunately there is no animal control to contact for those who reside outside of any city limit noted above. If you have lost a pet and live near a city limit, be sure to contact the appropriate shelter(s) above to file a lost report.
